At 12 o’clock at the railway station Buir, Hambach Forest
This autumn, the energy company RWE wants to destroy the Hambach Forest, so that they can continue to feed their power plants with Germany’s number one climate killer: the lignite. RWE’s plans are completely unacceptable. They are destroying one of the most biodiverse forests in this country and further fueling climate change. RWE provokes. And puts the ax to the work of the coal commission of the federal government, which is currently negotiating the coal exit in Berlin.
The hot summer, droughts and heavy rains have shown: Only if we act now and fast, a global climate catastrophe can still be stopped. Save the Hambach Forest, enforce the coal exit, protect the climate – we can only do that if we now generate a broad civic movement.
We are colorful. We are peaceful. We are diverse. And we are many. We do not allow that the Hambach forest has to die for the coal. With a big demonstration on Saturday the 6th of October we will send a clear signal to RWE!
