This morning at 10am police and RWE rated the the forest occupation again. It’s not clear if there was a higher purpose then destroying the soil with there wheel loader or just the plan to bother the spring fever by annoying all inhabitants of the forest. unfortunately this it worked for the non human beings but not for the people on the tree houses which where in a nice mute.
Just for the record the forest isn’t an playground for digger drivers we demand, use your crappy pit. Directed to the cops: a forest walk is more reactivating with out riot gear and stop clubbing young trees !
A unique photo exhibition about very brave people who decided to put their
lives on the line and fight against „legal“ destruction of complete life
under, on and above the ground; against the climate killer number one in
Europe – German power company RWE which owns the largest opencast mine in
Europe.
Danijel spent lots of time with the activists in the forest and around the
mine trying to capture all more-or-less crucial moments of the struggle;
struggle was his main focus. At some point he realised that he was the
only photographer present in some of direct actions and that his role is
becoming more important, role of documenting these historical events.
After some time direct actions became more effective and caused more
damage to RWE, as on the other side RWE’s mining activities caused more
damage to the nature as well. Danijel felt like moving on a thin line
between these two conflict sides and that’s actually what he summed up in
this story.
