City of Dusseldorf Streets filled with thousands opposing the proposed new Police laws.  Organizers and media estimate of 18,000 participants was countered with much lower than usual Police estimate of 9300 (surprise,surprise).  Climate, Ecological, Radical, Left Groups, Pirate Party, Chaos Computer Club, and Critical Football Fans marched together with over 40 Hambi flags waving everywhere in almost every block. Following speeches at the beginning of the Demo and on stop half-way down the route, last stop occurred before the regional North Rhine Westphalia parliament. With many groups being joined by numerous Hambis.

It is not just Hambacher Forest and Climate activists realizing and being alarmed about limits on state power, many imposed following National Socialist WWII regime, being removed one by one through out the decades and now removed in one big swoop.

Here is a proposed Late Disaster Capitalism short list of the new laws:

Attempted imposition of “Imminent Danger of Terrorist Threat Detention” imprisoning one under suspicion alone for one month, increasing the detention to determine identity from one day to 7 days. Dragnet Operations in which profiling(racial and political) is used to initiate repression and control actions. Tasers being added to the arsenal of North Rhine Westphalia Police. Heightened level of digital surveilance with more viral and destructive software involved. etc, etc.

These changes are a direct outcome of not embracing and dealing the global climate, ecological and social crisis but instead deepening the level of general breakdown by leaving decision making process to industry run groups deepening the global emergency then taking advantage of the situation that is created to militarize the police and remove last remaining limits to state power.  Climate Justice dynamic of chaos and repression of those in the global south and of countless species and habitats under attack not so slowly catching up to those in the Global North.

The bubble of privilege is eroding as CO2, countless other toxins dumped at ever increasing not decreasing rates know no borders.  “Wanna See the Future? Imagine a boot stepping on human face forever.” said Orwell.  There is no larger “boot” and one that is putting the Planet in great danger, by crossing current 2C Degree run-away-climate change thresholds, than Fossil Fuels and especially Coal.  The Capitalist Parliamentary democracies are progressively beginning to turn into corporate feudal states where corporations like RWE rule the masses by hijacking the illusion of representative governments with the likes of RWE (Sorry NRW) Interior Chief Herbert Reul, a Rhine Energie insider, calling the shots on Hambi repression, eviction and now on these new laws.  Feeding both the formation of right wing and fundamentalist extremism by protecting RWE carbon emissions destabilizing the Planet on which fear and violence are becoming a daily reality for more and more of its inhabitants….

After engaging in a fear campaign against this demonstration by warning business owners and the public through the mass media about violent protest this did not decrease the large spectrum of groups appearing and mass support against those laws.  Every Action has equal and opposite reaction and the only response to this  roll back on limits of police powers could be not just historical and climate perspective but also continual reliance on Solidarity and Pro-Active Resistance, So….:
